In his first start since high school, Matt Cassel led the Patriots to a 19-10 victory over Brett Favre's New York Jets. Cassel went 16 for 23 for 165 yards but didn't toss a touchdown, the AP reports. Peyton Manning narrowly avoided his first 0-2 start since his rookie season 10 years ago, rallying the Colts from a 15-0 deficit in the third quarter to beat the Minnesota Vikings 18-15, USA Today reports.

Philly Cops Probe NFL Star in Shooting

Police have questioned Indianapolis Colts star Marvin Harrison about a shooting outside his Philadelphia bar this week, the Indianapolis Star reports. In a game of little consequence to Indianapolis, and everything at stake for Tennessee, the Titans pulled out a 16-10 win, earning the AFC's sixth and final playoff spot.

Peyton, Colts Blow by Houston

Indianapolis, firmly entrenched in the No. 2 spot in the AFC, didn't take the day off as Peyton Manning threw three touchdowns and the Colts rolled up 458 yards of offense in a 38-15 thrashing of Houston. Two of the Colts' scoring drives exceeded 90 yards. Romo had three picks and a grisly 36% completion rate; Terrell Owens caught just two passes. The loss dropped Dallas to 12-2, ostensibly tied with Green Bay for NFC home-field advantage. With a gappy defense and an ineffective running game, Peyton Manning held his team above water with a typically prolific air game (288 yards, four TDs), reports the Indianapolis Star .
